St. George brooch with an elegant kanzashi flower. Beautiful brooches using the kanzashi technique with your own hands Brooch St. George's ribbon for May 9 Kanzashi

February has come, and it's time to prepare gifts for your beloved men: dads, brothers, husbands and, of course, sons. This year, be original and make a kanzashi ribbon of St. George as a patriotic gift. A master class with photos and detailed descriptions will help you with this. This brooch will be an excellent addition to traditional eau de toilette or shaving kit, which are most often given to men.

A similar accessory will also be relevant on the eve of May 9 - a brooch with a St. George's ribbon must be worn at the Great Victory Parade. Elegant flowers, made in black and orange tones, are perfect for decorating the St. George ribbon.

To create a kanzashi brooch from a St. George ribbon by May 9th with your own hands, you will need the following accessories:

- 20 pieces of orange satin ribbon in the form of squares with a side of 2.5 cm;

7 pieces of marsh-colored satin ribbon in the form of squares with a side of 2.5 cm;

3 round huggers, 1.5 cm in diameter;

3 black half-beads, 0.6 cm in diameter;

1 piece of St. George (black and orange) ribbon in the form of a strip measuring 2.5 * 25 cm (or you can use a ribbon 4 cm wide);

A pin (the base of the brooch) and a piece of felt for attaching it.

Stages of work:

1. The St. George ribbon is necessary to model the classic loop - the basis of the victory brooch. Squares of orange satin will be used to model drop-shaped petals for three small flowers and buds, and green blanks are needed for leaves, which will become traditional single-layer sharp kanzashi petals. The central part of the flowers should not be made bright and shiny; black half-beads with huggers are ideal for decoration.

2. To make a small rounded orange petal, take satin squares, a lighter, glue and tweezers. Burn off any protruding threads. Fold each square diagonally. At the first stage, you will get a two-layer right triangle. Lower the resulting part at a right angle downwards. There will be sharp corners (symmetrical) at the top. Lower them down, joining them at a right angle. At this stage, you will also need a lighter, which will allow you to fasten all the corners at one point, and also use tweezers (or a clamp) to conveniently hold small parts in a forced position so as not to burn your fingers and prevent the slippery satin from moving. When the diamonds with a longitudinal slit in the center are ready, spread the petal, rounding the upper part and highlighting the inner fold. At the very end, the base of the petal can be flame soldered or glued again.

3. For one flower you will need 6 orange blanks. And also a hugger with a black half-bead glued into it. Three colors are enough to decorate a brooch; you can also make 2 buds. Thus, a total of 20 orange droplets are needed.

4. Modeling of green leaves is carried out according to a different scheme, but with the same tools. The squares are singed, folded diagonally, then folded in the center again. All this can be held with tweezers. In the resulting triangles, all that remains is to round the wide side by closing the corners. These will be the sharp kanzashi petals, which are most often used to create jewelry.

5. Glue three flowers (6 petals in one), add a hug with a half bead to each. Make 7 green sharp leaves. Glue three of them into a trefoil, connect the rest in pairs and add an orange bud to each.

6. Glue flowers onto the St. George ribbon loop. They can be positioned arbitrarily to achieve slight asymmetry.

7. Glue shamrocks in three places to complete the holiday bouquet.

At the back, all you have to do is glue a pin using a piece of felt to easily pin the decoration to a shirt or jacket. This symbol of the unification of generations does not lose its popularity; it is relevant and in demand. You must have such an accessory in your arsenal if you plan to participate in the “Immortal Regiment” event, in a concert dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day or May 9th.

We also suggest you see how to do

In this master class we will make kanzashi decorations for the St. George ribbon. For work, you can use thinner ribbons or fabric, but it is more convenient to try and practice on wide satin ribbons.

To connect the parts we will use hot glue (you can stitch or use instant glue).

Option 1: Simple round kanzashi petal.

1. Cut squares from orange satin ribbon. From these we will make 7-8 round petals.

2. Fold the square diagonally.

3. Then we bend the corners of the triangle to the top as shown in the photo.

4. It is more convenient (for a beginner) to do this one at a time.

5. First, seal one side over fire.

6. And then the second one in the same way.

7. This is how it should turn out.

8. Fold the resulting part in half, that is, with the corners back.

9. Cut off the corners.

10.Solder the lower sections separately.

Front and back views of the petal...

Make the required number of petals. For a flower you need 7-8 pieces. You can fold it the way I did it, or you can do it in any other way. I secure it with a hot glue gun.

We fix it with hot glue on a small circle of thick black felt so that the flower does not bend in the center, and attach any suitable decoration to the center.

We attach it to the St. George ribbon and attach the brooch base using hot glue.

Option 2: double round kanzashi petal.

Additionally you will need: sharp scissors, a candle, a small piece of black felt, a brooch base, a decoration for the center and a St. George's ribbon.

To connect the parts we use hot glue (you can sew or use instant glue).

2. Fold them diagonally and place them on top of each other as shown in the photo. For convenience, you can use a needle.

3. Bend the side corners to the bottom corner (shown by arrows). It's more convenient to take turns.

4. First one.

5. Seal the seam on the candle.

6. Then do the same for the second one.

I seal the seams, it seems more convenient to me. If you are soldering only the corners, then pre-process the edges of the squares on the candle.

7. Fold the resulting part in half, that is, with the corners back. You can solder the base of the petal on the candle a little.

8. Cut off the corners.

9. Solder the lower sections separately.

Front and back views of the petal...

If you solder the lower sections together, you will get a different version of the petal, but, in my opinion, no less interesting.

We connect 7 petals together on a small circle of felt and decorate the middle.

We attach the St. George ribbon and the brooch base...

Option 3: Simple sharp kanzashi petal.

Materials: satin ribbon 4-5 cm wide.

1. Cut squares from satin ribbon. Let's start making sharp petals.

2. Fold the square diagonally.

3. Let's fold it again.

4. Connect the corners again.

5. We seal the base of the petal well.

6. Cut off the corner.

7. We process the cut on fire.

Front and back views of the petal...

In a similar way, we make the required number of petals of the desired color.

Option 4: Double sharp kanzashi petal.

Materials: satin ribbon 4-5 cm wide in two colors.

Additionally you will need: sharp scissors, a candle, a brooch base, any jewelry and a St. George ribbon.

1. Cut two squares of different colors from a satin ribbon.

2. Fold them diagonally and place them on top of each other as shown in the photo.

3. Attract each corner in turn to the opposite corner of the resulting figure.

4. This is what should happen.

5. Fold it towards the middle and seal the base of the petal well so that it does not fall apart.

6.Cut off the corner.

7. We process the cut on fire.

This is what the finished double petal looks like.

Make the required number of petals. You can fold it into a spikelet or in any other way. I secure it with a hot glue gun.

We fix it on the St. George ribbon and attach the brooch base.

Option 5: Triple spicy kanzashi petal.

A triple kanzashi petal can be made in two ways: combining single and double petals or soldering each petal to the previous one in turn. In the second case, the petal will be smoother.

Or each petal separately...

We make the required number of petals, sew them together or assemble them using hot glue...

An original decoration for clothes for you or as a gift on Victory Day for family and friends is ready!

Have fun creating!

I was glad to help!

On the eve of Victory Day, many begin to prepare for this great holiday, choosing decorations for themselves that are symbols of this celebration. The main symbol is, of course, the St. George's ribbon. The colors of the ribbon – black and orange – mean “smoke and flame” and are a sign of the personal valor of Russian soldiers on the battlefield.

That is why at the Victory Parade you definitely want to decorate your chest with the St. George Ribbon. You can simply tie it to the handle of your handbag or pin it in the form of a brooch on clothes, a bag, a headdress, etc. We suggest you add some zest to the usual St. George’s ribbon - make unique decorations using the Kanzashi technique for May 9 with your own hands.

St. George's ribbon with Kanzashi flowers

A brooch with a St. George ribbon is of a patriotic nature and therefore would be very appropriate at the Victory Parade. It can be made elegant and sophisticated using decorative elements such as stones, rhinestones, twisted metal elements and Kanzashi flowers.

Boutonnieres with simple Kanzashi flowers

There are several techniques for creating petals, leaves and flowers using the Kanzashi technique. Having mastered them, you can make entire masterpieces from ribbons! Beginners in the Kanzashi technique can make a simple festive boutonniere with a flower resembling a five-pointed red star:

He tells the secrets of its creation in his master class. Tatiana Yatsenko:

The red ribbon can be replaced with yellow or pink; this Kanzashi flower also goes well with the St. George ribbon:

Simple boutonnieres with tulips look very elegant!

Beginners can also make calla lilies using the Kanzashi technique. Watch the master class from the channel Hand made by Ludmila K.:

And then collect a boutonniere with a bouquet of delicate flowers:

Brooches with Kanzashi flowers made of sharp petals

From the sharp petals of Kanzashi you can make a lot of elegant and original flowers for brooches on May 9th.

Three small petals connected to each other easily fit into the petals b O larger in size. Play with the contrasts of black and orange:

To do this you will need a satin ribbon of two colors, a St. George ribbon, decorative ornaments and accessories

We form sharp small and larger petals from orange ribbon. We collect smaller petals into a flower:

We make two triangles from black tape, put the larger triangle on the smaller one and form a petal in the likeness of a simple sharp petal. After soldering the ends of such petals, straighten the black corners in different directions.

We put black petals with carved edges into orange petals and fix them with glue:

You should get the following three-dimensional flower blanks:

We connect all the parts together. We decorate the St. George ribbon with decorative elements:

The brooch with a voluminous elegant flower is ready!

You can also make a voluminous ear from a satin ribbon, in which the petals are laid with the back side out. The “antennae” of the ear are made according to the same principle as.

St. George's ribbon with Kanzashi star

By experimenting with the St. George Ribbon, you can model jewelry of incredible beauty, which is in demand and popular today. For example, you can make a five-pointed star out of it! After all, the red star is a heraldic sign and is now one of the elements of the Banner of the Russian Armed Forces.

It is very easy to make an asterisk from the St. George ribbon using a soldering iron or lighter. To do this, make a piece of tape - 8 cm. Fold the tape in half and measure 2 cm from the top corner. Cut off the excess at an angle. The result should be a trapezoid with the following parameters: upper length – 4 cm, lower length – 8 cm.

You need to make 5 such blanks. We turn them inside out.

We solder all the elements together. Cover the wrong side of the star with another piece of tape. We make beautiful corners at the ends of this ribbon. Glue a decorative element to the front side of the star.

You can attach the star to your chest using a simple pin or clip glued to the back of the brooch.

You can learn more about creating such a star in Anna Bartoszyk’s master class.

Using the same principle, you can make such gold star brooches. Here, on the contrary, the wrong side of the golden brocade star becomes the front side. We cover the seams with a decorative element. The brooch turns out to be voluminous, because we connect a golden star with a star from the St. George ribbon.

The tip of the star can be made more pointed, and the angle at which you cut off the excess from the tape, forming a trapezoid, should be greater. A flat order is obtained due to the fact that the prepared elements are glued to the base.

He demonstrates another version of a twisted star from a ribbon in his master class. Kulikova & Co:

Another original brooch from the channel « Sisters EM» :

Congratulations to you and your loved ones on the upcoming Victory Day! We wish us all peaceful skies above our heads for many, many years to come! Happy holiday!

Hello, dear readers! With all my heart, dear women, happy holiday! Peace, kindness, love and prosperity to your family! How are you feeling? Is it spring? Yes, for me, the sun is shining brighter, the days are warm, at least the weather has always been like this and has not deteriorated. The soul is waiting for something, some kind of renewal, something that cannot be expressed in words, first of all it is probably waiting for cleansing, and for this now is the time, the time of Lent. And I continue the handicraft theme, going far ahead, but time is so fleeting that we won’t have time to look back and May is already knocking on the door. This means you need to prepare a kanzashi brooch for May 9, and I have prepared a detailed master class for you with photos and videos, there will be several brooches so that you have a choice.

I don’t know how things are in other cities, but on May 9th there is always a holiday in our city, congratulations to veterans, of whom, unfortunately, there are so few left, concerts of children’s and adult groups, competitions, exhibitions, fairs, a lot of products are sold from ribbons, including kanzashi for May 9, the choice is very wide, people’s imagination works 200%). Of course, I make brooches for Victory Day myself, and for all the relatives who are going to be on holiday in the city on this day and decorate their clothes. Last year I made it for my daughter, if you remember, from a tricolor ribbon using the St. George ribbon. They looked really great on my daughter’s head, it’s a pity that you can only wear them once a year, now they’re waiting for the next time to go outside).

I was going to make a master class for you on kanzashi brooches for May 9 last year, but something didn’t work out, time didn’t work out, because in the spring there’s always not enough time, I want to walk more outside with the children and enjoy the spring sun, what there are master classes and articles here), so you need to somehow set yourself up that the blog is also a child and he needs to devote time, at least a little, even though spring is outside, so that he grows and matures, he needs food in the form of my master classes.

I will offer you several options for kanzashi brooches to choose from. All of them are very easy to do; I specially selected simple and quick options so that even a beginner could cope. The first brooch is a tricolor spikelet.

Kanzashi brooch for May 9 "Spikelet tricolor"

For this brooch we will need:

  • Satin ribbon white, blue, red 5 cm wide
  • St. George ribbon (satin or any other) 2.5 cm wide
  • Plastic star, 2 white half beads for brooch decoration
  • Glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Candle
  • Tweezers

First you need to cut the tape into squares 5 by 5 cm; for one spikelet we need six white squares, 4 blue and 4 red. Since we will be making a double sharp petal, we use two squares for one petal. If necessary, if the ribbon frays too much, you can singe the edges of the squares on the candle. After this, we fold a simple sharp kanzashi petal; such petals make wonderful ones.

Let me briefly remind you of the sequence of folding such a petal: fold a square into a triangle, again into a triangle, hold the resulting triangle between the fingers of your left hand, fold the exact same triangle from another square, place one triangle on top of another, as shown in the photo, and connect the lower corners . We cut off a little at the junction, clamp it with tweezers and solder it on the candle. We also cut off the lower edge of the petal by a few millimeters and scorch it on a candle. The double sharp petal is ready. So we need to make three white double petals, two blue and two red.

Now we heat up the glue gun and first glue the white petals in this order, first two together, then glue the third one between the two so that it is slightly higher than them. Next we glue two blue ones and attach them to the white ones and two red ones, which we then glue to the blue ones, we get such a Russian tricolor spikelet.

Now let’s decorate our kanzashi brooch for May 9 with half beads and an asterisk, here, of course, there are no clear recommendations on how and what to decorate with, the options are limitless, you can imagine a lot, this is the simplest decoration option, I liked it for its simplicity and severity. We also glue the half beads and star with hot glue.

At the last stage, you need to make the base of the brooch from the St. George ribbon, my ribbon is not satin, but from some material, unfortunately, I don’t know what, but it doesn’t matter, it can be made from any material, as long as it’s St. George’s. We will need 20-25 cm of it. We fold the ends of the tape in half and cut them diagonally to get pointed, beautiful ends. Then we fold the tape as shown in the photo, overlapping a little on top of each other; I glued the tapes together with a drop of hot glue. We glued our tricolor spikelet to the right side, and on the back side I attached a small pin. You can buy a special round base for a brooch, they are sold in handicraft stores.

The next brooch, the master class of which I want to show you, will be with tulips.

Kanzashi brooch for May 9 with tulips

For the brooch with tulips we need:

  • Satin ribbon white and red 5 cm wide
  • Green satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide (I also have a silver edging)
  • Green floral wire
  • White ribbon 0.6 mm wide with silver trim - 15 cm
  • White half bead
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun
  • Small pin (or special brooch base)
  • Soldering iron
  • Glass or wooden board
  • Metal ruler
  • White threads, needle
  • Candle
  • Tweezers

We will make tulips for brooches using the same technology that we made flower petals when we decorated them. Only the color of the ribbon will differ, and the manufacturing sequence is no different. I didn’t even start filming the video again, because this petal was already shown to me and I will post the previous video. Cut the tape into 5 by 5 cm squares.

I decided to make two red tulips and one white, you could make them all red or white, it’s up to you. For one tulip we need two squares of ribbon 5 by 5 cm.

Here you can watch a detailed video of an inverted kanzashi petal, from which we will make tulips for the brooch.

We fold a regular sharp petal, only then turn it inside out; you can see the sequence in the photo and video lesson. To get a whole tulip, you need to glue two inverted petals together.

To make the leaves for the tulips, we will use a green ribbon 2.5 cm wide, I happened to have a ribbon with a silver edge at home, and that’s what I will use. For one leaf we need a piece of ribbon 10 cm long, fold it in half so that the front side is inward. For greater clarity, watch the video tutorial on how to make such a green leaf, just keep in mind that in the video the tape is wider, and in this case we need a tape 2.5 cm wide, from the video you can just watch the manufacturing technology.

We heat up the soldering iron, place the folded tape on a glass plate, apply a metal ruler diagonally from above and draw a line with the soldering iron, we get this green leaf. We need three of these leaves. When they are all ready, glue a tulip bud inside each leaf. After this, you need to glue the green leaves together, thus forming a bouquet of three tulips.

Now we need to make stems for tulips from floral wire, I cut three stems of 4 cm each, twisted them together and glued them to the back of our bouquet of tulips from ribbons. By the way, if you missed my huge, detailed article with step-by-step photos and videos on how to do it, then I definitely recommend watching it.

To decorate the bouquet, I decided to make a small bow from a 0.6 mm white ribbon with a silver edging. We will need a piece of 15 cm, we fold it into a bow, as shown in the photo, I decided to sew this in the middle with threads, and on top, in the place where I stitched in the middle, I glued a white half-bead with hot glue. Then I glued this bow to a bouquet of tulips. This makes him look more elegant.

We make the basis for the kanzashi brooch with tulips in exactly the same way as I showed you above, using a 20-25 cm piece of St. George’s ribbon. All that remains is to glue the resulting bouquet to a correctly folded St. George’s ribbon. On the back of the brooch we attach a pin or a special clasp for the brooch.

Kanzashi brooch for May 9 with carnation

For such a brooch we will need:

  • Red satin ribbon 5 cm or 4 cm wide
  • Green satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide
  • St. George ribbon 2.5 cm wide (20-25 cm)
  • Cotton swab
  • Green tape
  • Scissors
  • Candle
  • Hot glue

How to make a carnation from satin ribbon

I never thought that making a carnation from a satin ribbon is so simple and easy. To do this, we need a red satin ribbon 5 cm wide. Cut six squares of ribbon 5 by 5 cm. If you want the carnation to be smaller, you can take a ribbon 4 cm wide. From these squares you need to carefully cut out circles, cutting off the corners, circles you need to try to make it as large in diameter as possible. Now we need a candle.

We bring the edge of the circle to the lower flame of the candle and quickly make a rib with our fingers, before the tape has cooled down; in the video you will see this process in live action, if something is not clear from the photo. When all the circles have been processed in this way, take one circle and bend it cut it in half, and in half again, glue it together with hot glue at the fold at the bottom.

The result is a separate part of the future carnation; we need 6 of these parts. When they are all ready, we glue them together, we get such a small and neat carnation. Now let's make the leaves of the carnation, they are thin in a natural flower, we will try to make similar ones, from a green ribbon 2.5 cm wide we cut out thin long leaves 4-5 cm in length, I cut it by eye without templates, I think each of you I saw a carnation live and remembers what kind of leaves it has. We process the cut out leaves on a candle, make bends and scars, see the video for more details.

We cut off the cotton heads from the cotton swab and leave only the plastic swab. We wrap it with green tape and hot glue the leaves and flower of the carnation to the stem. For decoration, I decided to make a small white bow on this carnation from a satin ribbon. Only I didn’t sew it, I simply glued it together with hot glue and attached a red half-bead in the middle, exactly the color of the carnation.

Glue a bow to the bottom of the carnation stem. All that remains is to glue the carnation onto the base of the St. George ribbon and pin a pin on the back side, or a special blank for a brooch with a clasp, which must first be glued with hot glue.

These are the simple kanzashi brooches for Victory Day that I wanted to invite you to make, it’s both beautiful and patriotic, and you can make it with your own hands; one brooch will take you no more than an hour of time. You can watch a video tutorial on how to make a kanzashi brooch with carnations.

Dear friends, what happens on May 9 in your cities and villages? It’s probably also a holiday and there are many exhibitions where you can buy such products made from satin ribbons?

Crafts using the kanzashi technique

Beautiful brooches that are not difficult to make.

Even schoolchildren can make a beautiful brooch that can be pinned on the Victory Parade. In this case, the following materials will be required:

  • Sections of St. George's ribbon. One should be longer and the other shorter.
  • Black satin ribbon.
  • Thread with a needle.
  • Scissors and glue.
  • Lighter and pin.
  • Decor elements.

Progress:

  1. A piece of St. George's ribbon measuring 30 cm is folded in the shape of the number 8.
  2. With another smaller piece, wrap the figure eight in the center. Secure it with glue along the walls or from the inside.
  3. Use black ribbon to lay out the base of the jar. In this case, join the ends at the bottom center. Connect them with a cross.
  4. Now assemble the product. Attach the element from the St. George's ribbon that you have created to the top of the black cross.
  5. Then you need to add decorative elements in the center.

Brooch for Victory Day using the kanzashi technique.

If you decorate a themed brooch for Victory Day with a flower made using the kanzashi technique, it will also look quite beautiful. To make this craft you will need:

  • George Ribbon,
  • Satin ribbons in orange and black,
  • Glue and decorative elements,
  • Scissors, tweezers, and a lighter.

On a note! The process of creating the next brooch is more labor-intensive. Therefore, you are advised to be patient.

Progress:

  1. The orange and black ribbon must be cut into squares, which will have sides of 5 cm. 7 squares are cut out of the black ribbon, and 14 from the orange ribbon. The sections of the squares must be treated with a flame. As a result, you will prevent shedding.
  2. Now it’s time to start making the petals. It is recommended to use tweezers. It will be more convenient this way.
  3. Fold the orange square diagonally into two. The result is a triangle. Fold it in half again.
  4. Take the opposite corner with your fingers, and cut off the edge that you held with tweezers. The cut is treated with flame.
  5. Use tweezers to secure the petal. Bend the ribbons in a parallel manner. Treat the cut with fire.
  6. The black square is folded in exactly the same way as the orange one. It should be attached to the orange square. The result should look like this: Inside the orange blank there should be a black blank. There should be a small leaf in the black blank.
  7. Sharp corners that were formed behind the tweezers need to be cut off. The edges are processed by fire.
  8. Form a loop from the St. George ribbon, which will serve as the base. Place the resulting flower on it. Then you can attach the clasp.

On a note! The number of petals per brooch may vary.

How to decorate a brooch made of St. George's ribbon with the colors of the Russian flag.

In this article we list crafts made from kanzashi ribbons for May 9th. To make the next craft, use the following materials:

  • St. George's ribbon,
  • Satin ribbons in the colors of the Russian flag,
  • Beads or rhinestones,
  • Scissors, pin, glue,
  • Lighter or matches.

Progress:

  1. Take ribbons in the colors of our flag. Cut them into squares. The length of the sides of these squares should be 5 cm. You should prepare: 2 blue and 2 red squares. Cut 3 pieces from white ribbon.
  2. Fold each of the squares diagonally, like the brooch we made earlier. Then fold again to create a droplet. Cut off the corner and flame the cut. These manipulations should be carried out with the remaining petals.
  3. Now start assembling. First, use white petals and connect a couple of elements together at an angle. Secure the ends with glue. Place the third leaf between them. The result is a seven-fold structure. The central petal should protrude upward, above the side petals.
  4. After which, red and blue petals are glued in pairs.
  5. Now take the St. George ribbon. Cut a piece from it that will be equal to 20 centimeters. Form a loop. The connection point must be secured with glue. Gently coat the wrong side of the tricolor with glue. Press this element against the front side of the ribbon blank. The corners of the ribbon loop should be cut off and secured with fire.
  6. Decorate the junction with rhinestones or beads. They must be attached with glue.
