Is it possible to combine sugaring and photoepilation? What is better: sugaring or photoepilation? Features of hair removal with sugaring

To understand what is better – modern photoepilation or time-tested sugaring, you need to study two methods of hair removal, find their disadvantages, advantages and compare. The parameters influencing the choice of method may vary. For some, the price is important, for others it is difficult to tolerate the effects of flash. Whatever hair removal you choose, let it give the best effect for you.

Features of sugaring

The word “sugaring” comes from “suger”, which means “sugar”, and all because the sugaring paste is made from sugar. Its additional components are citric acid and water. There are variations in which decoctions of medicinal herbs are used instead of water, and lemon juice is used instead of citric acid, but sugar must be present in the recipe.

The paste can be prepared at home or purchased at a beauty supply store. There are also special centers that sell various types of sugaring products and skin care products.

After practice, sugaring can be done at home, and this makes it better than other types of hair removal. But many women prefer to go to beauty salons where professionals work. They carry out the hair removal procedure quickly, causing you minimal pain.

Advantages and disadvantages of sugaring

The main properties that sugaring has are as follows:

  • after it, the skin remains perfectly smooth for more than 10 days, but after 15-20 days the hairs begin to break through;
  • with regular hair removal, hairs become thinner and growth slows down;
  • If sugaring is done incorrectly, ingrown hairs may form.

There are different opinions regarding pain. Some girls think that sugaring is very painful, others experience virtually no pain. It all depends on individual sensitivity and the professionalism of the cosmetologist. Hair thickness plays a special role. The more delicate the skin and the thicker the hairs, the more difficult it is to pull them out. The most sensitive areas are the area above the upper lip, bikini, chest, and armpits.

The advantages of sugaring are that all its components are natural and there are very few contraindications for use. The procedure is refused only in case of skin diseases and mechanical damage to the skin (scratches, cuts). The sugar mass is applied warm, so it cannot cause burns. It’s interesting to try to do sugaring on your hands or feet yourself. In these areas of the body, the skin is thicker and pain is minimal.

Features of photoepilation

Photoepilation cannot be done at home. To carry it out, you definitely need to go to a beauty salon and look for good specialists. The cost of the procedure depends on the area of the treated area. The larger the area, the more flashes will be required. For example, the price for treating the upper lip is about 1000 rubles. From time to time, salons offer discounts, so you can purchase the service at a lower price.

The hairs die and fall off due to the fact that they are exposed to high-pulse light. The pigment in the hair absorbs light, the hair root heats up and dies. Photoepilation is not used on gray and blond hair. The lighter the hair, the worse the effect of the procedure.

Advantages and disadvantages of photoepilation

Why is photoepilation better than other methods, and does it have any disadvantages? First, look at the benefits:

  • after you have done photoepilation, hair does not grow for almost 5 months;
  • the skin becomes absolutely smooth, and photoepilation is carried out on any part of the body;
  • minor pain may be present during the procedure, but it is quite tolerable;
  • photoepilation takes very little time - from 10 to 20 minutes.

But the procedure also has its drawbacks. To get rid of hairs forever, you need to carry out 5 to 10 procedures. In addition, pulsed light does not work on some types of hair, primarily gray and very light hair.

If the procedure is performed by a bad specialist, you may get burns or not achieve the desired effect. People with naturally dark and tanned skin should be especially careful. It is better to spend time looking for a professional cosmetologist with an excellent reputation than to subsequently suffer from skin damage. It is not recommended to do hair removal with light during pregnancy and taking medications that increase the skin's photosensitivity, as increased pigmentation may occur.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the price. It may vary from salon to salon, but on average, photoepilation is almost 2 times more expensive than sugaring. If you buy sugar paste and do sugaring yourself, its cost will decrease significantly. For many people this is the deciding factor. But after photoepilation, hairs do not grow much longer, and in some cases stop growing forever.

To finally make your choice, seek advice from a cosmetic center. There they will examine your skin, determine your hair type and tell you which hair removal method is suitable for you.

In this review we will talk about what is better: sugaring or photoepilation. Every woman dreams of having velvety and soft skin. Today it is not difficult to remove unwanted hair using different hair removal methods. The most affordable ones at present are all types of hair removal and sugaring.

What is sugaring

Sugaring was used centuries ago by oriental beauties. The modern name of this method was borrowed from the English word sugar. In this method, a special paste is applied to the skin, the main component of which is sugar.

Before sugaring, it is necessary to clean and degrease the skin area with a special lotion. Next, you need to warm up and knead the required amount of paste in your hands. After the paste acquires the required consistency, it must be immediately applied to the skin. After some time, remove the paste with a sharp movement.

In this case, it is necessary to take into account the direction of hair growth; the paste is applied against the growth direction and removed in the opposite direction. The advantage of the method is that the caramel paste applied in this way will tightly envelop absolutely every hair and stick firmly to it.

When the paste is removed, all hairs are removed, leaving not a single unwanted hair on the skin.
You can safely use caramel pastes on any area of the skin. After epilation, you need to apply special soothing agents to the skin so that the hair grows slower.

What is photoepilation

With photoepilation technology, hair follicles are heated and destroyed using a special apparatus. Destruction is achieved by light and thermal effects on the bulbs; it is absolutely harmless. The skin is not exposed to ultraviolet radiation. During the procedure, you can see a flash of light, the great heat of this energy destroys all the hair follicles and hair. When a flash occurs, there is a strong release of light energy which, turning into heat, warms up and destroys the hair. After completing a course of photoepilation, hair does not grow for very long.

It should be remembered that if you have completed a course of photoepilation, do not use other types of hair removal, do not use tweezers and creams that slow down hair growth. You can only use a razor.
We have studied two methods of hair removal, let's talk about the disadvantages and advantages. First minus

After the sugaring procedure, direct exposure to ultraviolet radiation is undesirable for your skin. The sugaring procedure is very painful. But it is reassuring that only the first two sessions will be painful. Subsequently, the hair becomes thin, and the hair follicles weaken, so over time the process will be completely painless. Painful sensations depend on how susceptible you are to them and how correctly the cosmetologist will carry out the procedure. If the skin is thin, pulling out hairs is more difficult and painful.
The advantages are the use of only natural products and the absence of burns, since the sugar mass is applied warm. If you have very sensitive skin, you can apply a numbing ointment.

The sugaring procedure does not destroy hair follicles; over time, the hair will grow back, it will become softer and thinner, but it must be removed again. Sugaring will need to be repeated in a few weeks.
Some diseases are contraindications for sugaring. Do not use it under any circumstances if you have diabetes, reduced blood clotting, thrombophlebitis, as well as any skin diseases or skin damage in the areas where you plan to epilate.

Disadvantages and advantages of photoepilation

The main advantage of photoepilation is that hair follicles are completely destroyed. But you should be aware of possible intolerance to the effects of flash.
Photoepilation is exclusively a salon procedure, and it is better to contact a good specialist. The price of this procedure is significantly higher than the cost of other types of hair removal. The cost is affected by the size of the area where you want to remove hair. A larger area requires more flashes, and the price of the procedure increases accordingly. But you shouldn’t be upset, beauty salons often offer discounts, and there is an opportunity to use the procedure.

Photoepilation is painless, has no irritation, and redness goes away quickly. There are no ingrown hairs left and new hair does not grow for quite a long time. When conducting a full course, you can forget about it for more than one year. The disadvantages include the need to repeat photoepilation from three to twelve procedures, depending on individual characteristics. Photoepilation has a worse effect on light hair, but it will have no effect at all on gray hair.

What is elos hair removal

Elos hair removal uses laser action on the skin.
The hair follicle is destroyed under the influence of a high-frequency light pulse and current, which are directed by a special device to the necessary areas of the skin.

For complete hair removal, four to eight sessions are required.
This hair removal is the most attractive, but we would like to warn you that you should first look at the price. In the salon where you decide to go, you will be given the necessary calculation based on hair removal zones, hair thickness, and the number of procedures required.

There are a lot of individual factors here, in particular gender. So, it is cheaper to remove coarse, dark-colored hair. Elos hair removal has a high cost due to the use of expensive equipment and the work of a high-class specialist.
Remember that by paying a large amount once, you will forever get rid of the problem of removing unwanted hair. An article about breast lift will be interesting.

It is advisable for each of you to determine sugaring or photoepilation for yourself. And yet, only a consultation with a cosmetologist will help you make the right choice, taking into account the individual characteristics of your skin, hair, and the whole body as a whole. The final result will depend on how correctly you chose the hair removal method.

It is very important to correctly follow all the advice of your cosmetologist who will perform hair removal. Especially if these are hardware types of unwanted hair removal. Do not violate the intervals between repeated epilations assigned to you. Whatever you choose, sugaring or photoepilation, we wish it to give you the best effect.

Today, both women and men are actively trying to get rid of unwanted body hair. Hair can be removed using various methods, but the most popular are sugaring and photoepilation. In order to decide which of the above methods to use, you must first familiarize yourself with the features of these methods. Because everything, as you know, has its pros and cons. And cosmetic procedures, in this case, are no exception.

About sugaring

Sugaring is a method of getting rid of unwanted hair all over the body using a special sugar paste. Additional components when preparing the mixture can be plain water, lemon juice and honey. To prevent skin irritation, infusions of medicinal herbs and glycerin are sometimes used.

You can carry out the sugaring procedure both in the salon and at home. Sugaring paste can be purchased at a salon or made on your own. The most important thing is to buy or make paste of the correct density. Each hair type has its own paste. If your hair is dark and coarse, then you should use a thick paste. It is also important to consider the area of its application. If we are talking about armpits and intimate areas, it is recommended to use a paste of soft consistency.

If the sugaring procedure is carried out frequently, then after 2-3 sessions the hair will begin to grow softer and lighter. With all this, the skin after sugaring remains smooth for 10-12 days. After 20-25 days, the hairs will be barely noticeable. It is recommended to select a paste for sugaring together with a cosmetologist. You should not make a choice on your own; it can cause harm to your skin.

Before applying sugar paste to your skin, you must thoroughly cleanse your skin. To do this, you can take any alcohol-based lotion. The paste should be heated to 40 degrees. You need to heat it either in a microwave oven or in a water bath. After this, the paste is applied to the skin in a thin layer, against hair growth. The paste should be left on the skin for 15 minutes. After this, the hair is removed with a sharp movement of the hand along the hair growth. To make the procedure easier, you should use fabric strips that need to be placed on top of the mixture. If after the first session not all hairs are removed, you can repeat the procedure.

pros

This procedure has several advantages:

  1. Possibility of performing the procedure at home
  2. Sugaring paste is not expensive. If you don’t want to spend money, then you can make it yourself from improvised materials.
  3. Since the paste contains only natural ingredients, it does not cause allergies, no matter what skin type.
  4. If you make the paste correctly and carry out the procedure strictly according to the rules, then the risk of mechanical damage is minimal. Also, discomfort during the procedure is practically reduced to zero.
  5. If you carry out sugaring sessions regularly, the hair follicles will be destroyed and the hairs will stop growing altogether.
  6. Sugaring not only removes unwanted hair, but also removes dead skin particles.
  7. After sugaring, ingrown hairs are excluded.
  8. The result is noticeable within 3-4 weeks.

Minuses

  1. It is difficult to prepare the correct composition with your own hands, especially if you have no experience. Therefore, it is worth purchasing the right paste in beauty salons.
  2. The sugaring procedure can be performed on hair that is 4-5 mm long.
  3. Unfortunately, it is impossible to get rid of all the hairs the first time. In this case, the procedure must be repeated.
  4. When conducting a sugaring session at home, it is extremely difficult to maintain the optimal temperature of the composition. To do this, it is worth purchasing a special device - a wax melter.
  5. The sugaring procedure in the salon is quite expensive. However, the price depends on the area of the treated area.
  6. Sugaring is contraindicated for certain diseases. Therefore, if you have diabetes, varicose veins, cancer, cuts, burns, moles, papillomas, etc., then sugaring is contraindicated for you.

About photoepilation

The photoepilation procedure is becoming increasingly popular among the population. Because with its help you can get rid of hair all over your body. To carry out photoepilation, a special lamp is used that produces light.

A gel is applied to the skin, which acts as a conductor for the flash of light. It goes to the roots of the hairs. In addition, it cools the skin and reduces pain. The technician brings the device to an area of skin, after which a pulse is emitted. At the end of the session, the skin is treated with Panthenol or Bepanten. This is necessary in order to relieve irritation, redness, and burning. After the procedure, unwanted hair falls out within 1-2 weeks. The pigments that are in the hairs absorb light, causing the hair roots to heat up and die. During the outbreak, the hair and follicle heat up. As a result, the hair papilla is destroyed and hair growth stops. If the follicle is not destroyed, but only damaged, then hair growth will continue. True, they will be soft, light and weak.

It is impossible to remove hair the first time using photoepilation. Because a positive effect can only be achieved when the hair is in the growth phase. Therefore, for maximum effect it is necessary to undergo from 5 to 20 sessions, the interval is from 3 to 5 weeks. You can remove hair using this method from any part of the body, the main thing is that the length of the hairs is at least 1-3 mm.

pros

  1. Long-term effect after the procedure – up to 2 years
  2. There are no negative effects on the skin
  3. The session lasts a maximum of 35-40 minutes

Minuses

  1. Blonde, gray, thin hair cannot be removed using photoepilation
  2. It is almost impossible to carry out this procedure at home
  3. To achieve results you must complete the entire course.
  4. If the master is not a professional, then burns and scars are likely to occur.
  5. After the photoepilation procedure, hair should not be removed using sugar paste or wax.
  6. You cannot do photoepilation if you have tattoos on your body.
  7. The procedure has its contraindications
  8. The method is contraindicated for pregnant women, as well as for those who have a pacemaker or insulin pump.

Which method to choose

Only after studying all the intricacies of each of their procedures can you make a choice. Before choosing one method or another, it is recommended to evaluate your financial, time and physical capabilities. If you want a long-lasting effect and you have time to complete the full course, then you should choose photoepilation. If you need an instant effect, then sugaring is suitable for you. In a word, choosing a way to get rid of unwanted hair is everyone’s business.

  • 1. Advantages of sugaring over other types of hair removal
  • 2. Epilator or sugaring
  • 3. Sugaring or laser hair removal
  • 4. Razor or sugaring
  • 5. Sugaring or photoepilation
  • 6. Bioepilation or sugaring
  • 7. Sugaring or phytoresin
  • 8. Sugaring or depilatory cream

Advantages of sugaring over other types of hair removal

Women try different means of removing hair. Of course, everyone wants to find a painless and effective method, so there are more and more supporters of sugaring. But this type of depilation is not suitable for everyone, so we decided to find out if there are alternatives.

  • If all instructions are followed, no ingrown hairs remain after sugaring.
  • The absence of allergic reactions is due to the natural composition of the paste, which includes only water, lemon juice and sugar.
  • Even beginners do not need much time to remove unwanted vegetation.
  • Sugar paste captures even small hairs that a razor cannot handle.
  • Smooth skin lasts for almost a month.
  • Caramel can be easily made at home, and the cost of the product will be quite low.

Epilator or sugaring

When deciding which to prefer, epilator or caramel, it is better to pay attention to the details, since the result from both methods is almost the same.

If you don’t have enough time, you have to travel often, or you want to remove hair without preparation, then it’s better to choose an epilator instead of sugaring. Now the epilator is equipped with various convenient additions: massage heads, cooling attachments, epilator for sensitive skin and various areas. But the epilator often leaves irritation, and depilation itself is quite painful. Use special cooling and pain-relieving ointments until the skin gets used to it. For long-term use, it is better to spend more money on a high-quality and expensive model equipped with a special nozzle that cools the skin. The epilator has some advantages: the result lasts up to three weeks, it is maneuverable and compact, it is convenient to take with you on the road. But compared to sugaring, an epilator causes more discomfort. The likelihood of ingrown hairs is also much higher.

If you have a lot of free time, love natural ingredients and are ready to make your own sugar paste, then the sugaring method is for you. In addition, you don’t have to spend money on expensive devices, and the cost of caramel is very low. By following all the instructions and proportions, you can easily learn how to remove unnecessary hair without pain and for a long time. Before using the epilator, you need to grow your hair to 3 mm. It is almost impossible to use it in sensitive areas: severe pain, bruising, irritation. The epilator cannot cope with vellus hair; it does not remove it, but breaks it off.

Sugaring or laser hair removal

You need to prepare for laser hair removal in advance - stop sunbathing, limit shaving. After it, you need to adhere to recommendations, including the use of sunscreen, a ban on visiting the pool, solarium, or bathhouse for a certain period of time. However, after a course of procedures, a lasting result is obtained for a long time.

The advantages of sugaring are that it does not require special training. It is worth noting the instant result, while after the laser the hairs fall out after a few days. The caramel mixture provides an additional peeling effect; it has no special contraindications. You can remove hairs at home. At the same time, the cost of depilation is much lower.

Therefore, when choosing laser hair removal, you need to be prepared for multiple visits to the beauty salon and many restrictions before, after and between sessions.

Razor or sugaring

You can use the razor in any conditions. With its help, excess hair is removed quickly, without discomfort. Unfortunately, the results will only last for a few days. During the procedure, there is a possibility of cuts and irritation, which is often associated with ingrown hairs that the razor is unable to remove. By running your hand over the shaved area against the hair growth, you can feel the hairs, although visually they are invisible.

Sugar hair removal takes no more than an hour, regardless of whether it is done independently or in a cosmetology salon. Unpleasant sensations occur only the first time, with each subsequent procedure the pain becomes more tolerable. The main advantages of sugaring are that after the procedure, the skin will become perfectly smooth, without a feeling of prickliness, and the effect will last for several weeks. Among the possible consequences of proper hair removal with a sugar mixture, it is worth noting only slight redness that goes away after a few hours.

Thus, when choosing between razor or sugaring, the second one looks more advantageous.

Sugaring or photoepilation

Photoepilation cannot be done at home. The session is carried out with special equipment in beauty salons and is expensive.

The effect of photoepilation lasts for almost six months, while new hairs grow after sugaring in a few weeks. The procedure itself in the first case takes only 20 minutes, and in the second – about 40 minutes. Both methods can be used on any part of the body with minimal pain, especially if the services are provided by a specialist.

Hair removal using sugaring is possible regardless of skin color, while photoepilation is carried out with caution on dark skin. In addition, the device is not able to capture hairs that are too light and gray.

Also, do not forget to pay attention to the price of the procedures. Usually in salons the sugar paste method costs half as much.

Regardless of the method, it is better to first consult with a cosmetologist and determine the condition and type of skin.

Bioepilation or sugaring

The hair removal technique itself is identical in both cases, only the wax is replaced with a special sugar mixture. Comparing them will determine the most suitable one.

  1. Quality of the procedure. The sticky caramel mass better envelops the hairs, thereby minimizing the number of broken or remaining hairs. However, wax is preferable for removing short fuzz.
  2. Discomfort. Caramel does not stick to the surface of the skin, so the pain is not as strong as with classic bioepilation. According to statistics, most women tolerate sugaring better.
  3. Price. First of all, decide where you plan to carry out the procedure. Sometimes making a homemade paste is cheaper than buying wax, because it contains simple ingredients.
  4. Utility. Caramel not only removes hair, but also exfoliates the skin. The top dead layer of the epidermis will be removed along with the mass. Since the homemade paste contains only natural ingredients, the likelihood of allergic reactions is minimal.

Sugaring or phytoresin

Phytoresin is considered an improved sugar mixture. Honey and herbs are added to it in addition to regular products. Resin provides gentle care and accelerates the healing process of the skin, and walnut oil slows down hair growth.

However, the technique of hair removal with phytoresin and sugaring differs. In the first case, the mixture is applied and removed against hair growth. During sugar hair removal, applying caramel is also against growth, but removing it is the opposite. Therefore, the likelihood of ingrown hairs during sugaring is lower.

Before replacing the standard sugar mixture with phytoresin, please note that the latter contains allergenic components - honey and herbs, so before the procedure you should make sure there are no contraindications.

Sugaring or depilatory cream

If previously only shaving and an epilator were used to remove excess hair, now chemical hair removal with chemical creams has become widespread. Women are primarily concerned about the safety of the procedure. The acidity balance in the product is noticeably increased, so you need to follow safety precautions and avoid contact of the substance with the most sensitive areas of the skin.

The result lasts only a few days, since the creams do not act on the hair follicles, and the number of ingrown hairs and blackheads can be large. Special conditions are required to store the mass, otherwise its effectiveness is reduced.

Of course, depilatory cream has its advantages. For example, the absence of pain and ease of use. Modern products can be used directly in the shower by simply washing them off with your hair under running water.

However, the sugar method will be preferred by those who are afraid of chemical burns and want to get long-lasting results. As already noted, sugar paste is completely hypoallergenic, but depilatory cream can cause a strong reaction. So test it on a small area of skin first.

Sugaring can be called the golden mean between all options. Its effect is not as long-lasting as a laser, but unlike a razor, the prickly hairs will appear after a few weeks.

This method is well suited for those with sensitive skin prone to allergic reactions. The pain that many women are so afraid of will become less with each procedure. And also keep in mind that laser and photoepilation are not suitable for dark-skinned people and light hair.

WHAT IS THE BEST HAIR REMOVAL METHOD? WHAT TO CHOOSE?

Hair removal is a cosmetic procedure for removing hair from the skin. Complete removal of hair, including hair roots, is called epilation. There are mechanical hair removal (waxing, sugaring), chemical, laser and photoepilation.

Today, the most popular methods for hair removal are two types of hair removal: light hair removal (photoepilation, laser) and mechanical hair removal (shugaring, waxing). Sometimes the patient has to use all methods in turn.

You must understand that mechanical hair removal (sugaring, waxing) will allow you to immediately get rid of hair,

but for a short period of time (the hair is pulled out without a bulb, and in its place after a while a new one grows, after 1 month on average). The hair will become thinner after the procedure, but will not disappear completely. After this, the procedure must be repeated again and again.

Laser or photoepilation requires at least 5-6 procedures, and the amount of hair after each procedure will decrease, and after completing the course, you can completely forget about hair removal for years.

But there are also peculiarities. The rays of light do not work on gray hair, they do not work well on red hair, in general there are details.

The mechanism of action of various methods of hair removal

  • The mechanism of action of photoepilation is based on the absorption of light by melanin concentrated in the hair shaft, as a result of which it is heated, which causes the destruction of cells responsible for hair growth.
  • Laser hair removal takes advantage of the fact that flashes of light are able to penetrate the skin to a certain depth; they are absorbed by the melanin pigment and converted into energy that destroys the hair follicle.
  • Waxing, waxing (vaxing) is a type of depilation in which a creamy mass of wax is applied to the treated area using a spatula or roller and, after hardening, is removed with special paper strips along with the hair. Ingrown hairs may appear.
  • Sugar pastes, used for sugaring, are not fat-soluble compounds. Thanks to the mentioned property, such pastes penetrate into the hair follicles and pull them out, rather than breaking them off. Hairs treated with this method grow much slower, they become thinner over time and can practically disappear. This technique eliminates the appearance of ingrown hairs. An additional effect of the sugar depilation procedure is the softening and removal of keratinized layers of the epidermis, which ensures smoothness and pleasant velvety skin.

Efficiency

  • The results of photoepilation are a gradual but constant reduction in hair growth; - up to 60 - 70% at best.
  • The results of laser hair removal are a gradual but permanent reduction in hair growth, up to 80% in the best case.
  • After waxing, hair growth does not stop; new hair is formed in the hair follicles to replace the removed ones. But there is no “prickly stubble” effect like after shaving. With regular procedures, the rate of hair growth slows down, it becomes thinner and weaker in the hair follicles.
  • Hair removal with sugar paste (sugaring) is a deeper type of hair removal than wax hair removal, because... Sugar paste penetrates deeper into the hair follicle. When removing hair in this way, the follicle is injured and each time it becomes more and more difficult for it to gain strength and form coarse black hair. On average, the sugaring procedure needs to be repeated every 3-6 weeks, depending on the individual characteristics of hair growth.

Hair color

  • Photoepilation is an effective treatment for dark hair. Blonde, gray or red hair does not absorb enough photons of light because it contains very little or no melanin pigment. Therefore, it is impossible to completely emit them. At best, hair that has a small amount of pigment (dark blond, blond and red) will become weaker and thinner.
  • Laser hair removal is effective mainly on dark hair containing a large amount of melanin. Only a neodymium laser can successfully remove hair containing small amounts of pigment.
  • Sugaring doesn't matter.

Color of the skin

  • Photoepilation provides the best results for clients with fair skin but dark hair. Because photons of light are absorbed by pigmented skin, dark skin absorbs more energy and emits more heat.
  • Laser hair removal with a ruby laser is not advisable for people with dark, tanned skin, because the energy of the laser pulse will be dissipated and will not be able to reach the hair follicle, and the possibility of getting burns increases. Alexandrite laser, neodymium laser and diode laser can be used on lightly tanned skin, as the beam penetrates deep into the skin.
  • Waxing - Doesn't matter
  • Sugaring doesn't matter.

Body areas

  • Photoepilation is an ideal method for all areas of the body. However, its use is very limited on the face due to the large size of the tip of the device. This method is not suitable for eyebrow hair removal, as the eyes must be protected from intense light during the entire session.
  • Laser hair removal can be performed on any part of the body. However, the device is capable of affecting a small working surface. Therefore, it is mainly used on the face, neck and chest. The eyes must be protected during the procedure.
  • Waxing - all areas of the body.
  • Sugaring - all areas of the body.

Skin after the procedure

  • Photoepilation - practically no changes; in rare cases, with sensitive skin, there is slight redness.
  • Laser hair removal - hyperemia, swelling, pain, swelling and itching.
  • Waxing - minor damage to the outer skin and injury to the hair follicle as a reaction to forced removal - pulling out, ingrown hairs are possible.
  • Sugaring - irritations on the skin caused by both mechanical damage during the procedure and high sensitivity to the ingredients of the pastes

Hair length

  • Photoepilation - The hair length should be about 1 mm, so 3 days before the procedure you need to shave the hair on your legs, 1-2 days before - in the bikini area and armpits.
  • Laser hair removal - Hair length should be no more than 1-2 mm, hair should be shaved 3-4 days before the procedure.
  • Waxing - very short hair cannot be removed with wax. The hair length should be about 5 mm, then hair removal will be effective.
  • Sugaring - there is a need to grow 2-5 mm hairs;

Painfulness of the procedure

  • Photoepilation is a virtually painless procedure; only sensitive parts of the body may experience pain.
  • Laser hair removal is a moderately painful procedure. Quite severe pain can be observed in sensitive areas such as the armpits and bikini line.
  • Wax epilation - hair removal with wax refers to that area of cosmetology in which one has to suffer for the sake of beauty. But the use of painkillers, heated wax and the firm hand of an experienced cosmetologist make it quite tolerable. The first procedure is usually the most unpleasant, this is primarily due to the fear that it will be painful, as well as the fact that hair that has not been previously epilated will adhere more tightly to hair follicles. Subsequent procedures are much easier.
  • Sugaring - like waxing, sugaring cannot be called a pleasant procedure, but, as you know, beauty requires sacrifice. There is no need to be afraid; there is no need to make serious sacrifices.
