In one second-hand store, I quite accidentally came across a wonderful piece of brown fabric and a green belt, and thinking about fate))) I decided to make a brown gnome costume myself.

For the gnome's cap, I chose this hat (which quite by chance ended up in the bins)

To disguise the inscription, I cut out a clover leaf from fleece (of course, this applies more to leprechauns, but who will pay attention to that) and sewed it to the hat

To create a beard, I bought a wig on the market (the quality is of course lousy (to put it mildly) before use, I had to stitch half the seams, otherwise it would have completely come off).

I cut it into pieces: I used the long skeins for the beard itself, and the short ones for the forelock. The beard itself was attached to the hat with buttons (because the child could not decide to be a bearded gnome, or a young one, as he put it), so that it could be unfastened if something happened. I simply sewed the forelock to the hat (half of the wig was still left). I twisted the whole thing, varnished it, and this is what I got: a hat.

Since our gnome turned out to be a miner of precious stones (this became known in the evening before the matinee - a child’s idea), we had to urgently sew a bag of jewelry. To do this, I cut a circle out of fleece and stitched it with white cord.

5) Now between the sides you need to carefully sew the upper part. We secure the parts with pins so that it is easier to stitch and the fabric does not slip away. As you lay the seam, remove the pins one by one. The result is a shoe.

6) Now you need to complement it with a satin bow, which will create the impression of fairy-tale verisimilitude. We tie a bow from our ribbon and sew it at the top of the tongue.

Such a shoe can also be trimmed with thread pompoms in one of the colors of the shoe. They are attached closer to the toe of the shoe. In this version, a bow would be superfluous. The choice is yours.

Now you can put candies, fruits and small souvenirs in the gnome's shoe. We place everything so that more fits into the interior space, but at the same time so that the shape does not bend. This is how we made a holiday souvenir with our own hands. It can be placed on a shelf or under the Christmas tree.

Let's try to sew shoes for a suit with our own hands

Now we’ll tell you how to sew these gnome shoes so that children can wear them on holidays. In this example, we will consider a shoe model as in the photo above. We will need thick children's socks, it is better that the lower part has a special gel coating that prevents slipping. If there are no such ones, then ordinary warm ones will do. You just need to insert insoles into them so that the cold does not come from the floor, and sew them to the sole so that they do not move out.

Here is a sketch of the pattern below. You need to draw according to this example yourself, but according to individual measurements. The main thing is not to overdo it, so that it is comfortable for the child to thread the leg through.

At the top of the boot, we gather it with an elastic band. It is not connected to the sock and can be of any height. And if you sew a sock to the boot, it will become wrinkled, as in the model below.

Our shoe for the gnome is ready. You can decorate it at your own discretion.
